HIV/AIDS cases increasing in Pakistan                        
 
Pakistan is currently classified in the ‘concentrated epidemic’ phase by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the UNAIDS definitions as more than 5 percent of HIV prevalence in concentrated group like injecting drug use.

  Advocacy Media Seminar (Islamabad)

HIV&AIDS is a relatively new sector in Pakistan. The response to the epidemic at all levels has been to slow. Though government and civil society organizations started their involvement and concern in early nineties, still the scale and quality of these interventions remained debatable. The reasons are not difficult to identify.

  Media Seminar Karachi

The second seminar of the series which was organized by Pakistan National AIDS Consortium and European commission was held in Karachi. The tile of the seminar was: ‘ HIV and AIDS in Pakistan, A situational analysis’ Karachi was selected because
according to the recent findings HIV epidemic has reached concentrated epidemic level in IDUs in Karachi and it has become imperative to deal with the situation in more comprehensive way.

  Media Seminar Kashmir (Muzafarabad)

PNAC in Collaboration with European Commission organized a media dialogue in Muzafarabad. The title of the seminar was, “Increased Vulnerability to HIV and AIDS as an Aftermath of Earthquake”. It has been observed that conditions which follow a great natural disaster are always invariably those which contribute in the spread of HIV and AIDS.
