Introduction:
Project Title:Injecting Drug Users
Lead NGO:  Pakistan Society
Partner NGO: Sindh Development Society
Target Group: Injecting Drug Users
Location: Hyderabad
  Objectives:

• To collect base line information regarding the size and situation of the target group in project area
• To identify the rehabilitation needs of IDUs in the Project area
• To identify appropriate interventions and implementations strategies for the project

 


Lesson Learnt:
• It is highly recommended that effective
outreach services should be planned to
  maximum numbers of IDUs.
• Involvement of willing IDUs and recovering Drug users in the project activities may help in identifying vulnerable groups
• Most of the IDUs are not aware of the drastic effects of injecting Drug, so there is a great need to educate them properly about the effects of Drug use
 

Achievements:

• Injecting drug users show their tendencies towards recovery programs
• Frequency of taking drugs among Injecting drug users reduced
• Condom promotion
• Availability of treatment services improved
• A large number of locations identified as the base operation for IDUs
