Introduction:
Project Title:Out of school youth
Lead NGO: Danish
Partner NGO:CDO
Target Group:Out of School Youth
Location: Quetta
  Objectives:

• Identify the sexual health needs of out of school male youth at Double Road Garage Area, Quetta.
• Identify factors affecting the sexual health of youth in project area.
• Collect baseline information on level of knowledge, and risk perceptions of youth with regard of SRH, HIV and AIDS and STIs.
• Make a better understanding of the project area in terms of its socio-economic conditions, availability of resources, infrastructure, existing health, educational and recreational facilities etc.
• Identify appropriate interventions and implementation strategies for the project.
 


Lesson Learnt:
• Peer education technique would be the most
effective way of bringing awareness to youth.
• Unemployment and poverty are the main problems of youth which should be addressed.
• A major draw back for these out of school youth is lack of recreational and entertainment opportunities in the area.
• Providing religious education could be effective in bringing a positive behavioral change.
 

Achievements:

• Advocacy meetings played a vital role in bringing behavioral change.
• Most of the target population received primary health care services.
• Shyness related to the discussion on sexual matters decreased
