ABOUT US

The PakistaN AIDS Control Federation (PNAC) formerly known as Pakistan National AIDS Consortium is a network of 6 provincial/regional NGO networks throughout Pakistan.  PNAC was founded in 2000 and registered with the government of Pakistan in 2005.  PNAC is constituted of the Balochistan AIDS Network (BAN), Azad Jammu Kashmir AIDS Consortium (KAC), the Northern Areas AIDS Control Consortium (NAACC), the Northwest Frontier Province AIDS Consortium (NAC), the Punjab AIDS Consortium (PAC), and the Sindh NGO Network on HIV&AIDS (SNNHA).

Each provincial/regional consortium/network was established in order to facilitate cooperation, collaboration, and communication between and among nongovernmental organizations in Pakistan that work to try to prevent the spread of HIV and/or to provide care or treatment for people living with HIV & AIDS. PNAC does not currently have members, but instead represents the provincial/regional consortia at the national level. PNAC is providing support and services, through our professional staff, to provincial NGO consortia and their members NGOs running different small grant projects (SGP).

The TAMEER Project -- a joint programme of  Pakistan National AIDS Consortium, Interact Worldwide / Interact Pakistan, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, Royal Tropical Institute Netherlands (KIT Development, Policy, & Practice), and Associazone Italiana Donne Per Lo Sviluppo (AIDOS, Italy) -- aims to prevent the spread of HIV among the most vulnerable groups in Pakistan by raising the capacity of those who work most closely with these people: NGOS.  The TAMEER Project has increased the ability of HIV & AIDS NGOs to implement prevention, care, and support projects, while at the same time strengthening the provincial and regional consortia's to which these NGOs belong.
